IASLC Statement on Upcoming 2021 Events
Considering the ongoing concerns caused by Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), the IASLC continues to monitor the situation on an ongoing basis. Our primary focus is to ensure the health and welfare of attendees and faculty at all IASLC meetings and activities. Due to this evolving situation, including the possibility that travel restrictions and limitations on large gatherings will persist, at this time the IASLC is transitioning all 2021 live conferences to worldwide virtual events.
The IASLC’s 2021 meetings will include both live stream interaction and on-demand content. If public health circumstances allow in the previously planned meeting locations, the IASLC may also offer in-person opportunities if feasible. Our primary goal is to ensure that educational and scientific content is available to all interested participants, while protecting the health and well-being of attendees and faculty.
The IASLC is committed to offering quality experiences that continue to provide opportunities for attendee engagement that have been a hallmark of the IASLC’s in-person conferences. The IASLC will continue to deliver on its fundamental mission by bringing critical education in all aspects of thoracic cancer to the widest possible audience. Additional details, dates and program information for the 2021 meetings will be routinely updated on the IASLC website, the official source of updates to all IASLC meetings and events.
We recognize that many of our global and multidisciplinary members and meeting attendees are healthcare workers who are on the front line of studying, diagnosing and treating lung cancer. We want to express our gratitude and admiration to you and to all health care professionals working in incredibly difficult circumstances to contain this outbreak and prevent further loss of life.
The IASLC and its members have created additional resources for reference concerning this evolving health situation.
